According to our head coach, there is no cause for concern despite the three-goal defeat, as the club are building a new team that is still at the beginning of its journey together.
“Of course, people can look at a 4–1 defeat in a pre-season friendly and think that something is wrong, but I want to reassure everyone that there is no need to worry. We are building a new team and are still at the beginning of the journey. In terms of our play, we were evenly matched with Honvéd, created chances and produced some good combinations, but we did not yet play with the required level of aggression,” Péter Kollár said.
The head coach emphasised that during the training camp our team faced opponents who are two weeks further ahead in their preparations and will begin their league campaigns next weekend.
“With such a heavy workload, I can accept individual mistakes, but they will no longer be acceptable in league matches. We are improving day by day and functioned well both tactically and as a team. We need time for the elements of our play to become second nature and for the players to get to know each other properly. Everyone is working hard and well, so we continue moving forward with the same determination,” our head coach added.
