FK Csíkszereda U18 held its winter training camp in Antalya, where, besides excellent pitch conditions, the team also faced strong opponents in friendly matches. We drew 1–1 with Grasshoppers and suffered a 2–0 defeat against Dynamo Kyiv U19. A third friendly match, against Danish side Kolding U19, could not be completed due to adverse weather conditions.

The training camp was summarised as follows by head coach Goran Kopunovic:
“I would like to sincerely thank the president for providing us with this opportunity — a training camp in Turkey at a location where we had everything necessary for the boys to gain tremendous experience and live through an outstanding professional and personal journey. I believe everyone benefited from it not only emotionally but also from a footballing perspective. We played against the youth teams of major clubs such as Grasshoppers and Dynamo Kyiv, and although the last match was interrupted due to rain, it was also a valuable test for us.
It is also important to highlight that we achieved respectable results and represented our club with dignity. In fact, we received praise after the matches. I had meaningful professional discussions with the Grasshoppers coach as well as with the Dynamo Kyiv technical staff. This camp will remain a defining memory for all of us.
I also hope that this training camp strengthened the unity of the players even further, as they have only limited time left together. As we know, above the U18 level there is no further possibility to continue together in youth football. The championship ends in mid-May, and until then we must collect as many points as possible and progress as far as we can in the Cup. The competition continues this weekend, with two matches ahead of us, the first one at home.
I am very proud of the boys — of their behaviour during the camp, the discipline and respect they showed at the hotel and during matches, and I was satisfied with our performances on the pitch as well. However, those were friendly matches; from this weekend onwards, the real challenges begin. As I said before, we must continue to work with humility, and in mid-May the results will define us — results that all of us, but especially the players, can be proud of.”
