Női Román Kupa | Győzelem az Unirea ellen, közel az elődöntő

We secured another confident home victory in Round 2 of the Women’s Romanian Cup group stage, defeating Unirea Alba Iulia 3–0 at the Burus Csaba Sportpark. After two rounds, we lead Group B with six points and are one step away from the semi-finals.

In front of a good crowd on Wednesday afternoon, we controlled the match from the opening minutes. In the 10th minute, we turned our dominance into a goal: Vlădulescu Ana Maria converted a free kick from the left side of the penalty area to give us the lead (1–0). We continued to dictate play and kept constant pressure on Unirea’s goal.

In the 35th minute, we gained a numerical advantage after Ancăș received a straight red card for a two-footed challenge on Fülöp Boglárka. Despite the extra player, we were unable to extend our lead before halftime.

We maintained control in the second half as well. In the 60th minute, Porter scored with an excellent strike from 30 metres, the ball going in off the underside of the crossbar (2–0). In the 76th minute, following a goalmouth scramble, Kis Anita headed the ball into the net after the grounded goalkeeper and defenders failed to clear (3–0). We kept control until the final whistle and added another three points to our tally.

After the match, head coach Szeitl Szilvia highlighted the quality of the players.

– Our clear objective was to keep the three points at home. It was difficult to break them down, but our players’ quality showed, as we were still able to score, and beautiful goals as well. We still have one group match left, against Petrolul, and we must win that to secure our place in the semi-finals. We are more confident now and will travel to Constanța on Friday full of belief – she said.

We continue the Women’s Superleague play-offs on Saturday, April 4 at 12:00 against Farul Constanța. In the Romanian Cup, our next match will be on Wednesday, April 29 at 17:00 away to Petrolul Ploiești.
