A total of six FK Csíkszereda players were involved in Romania’s various national team camps at the beginning of June.
Bencze Lóránd, Bota Darius and Máthé Apor featured for Romania’s U17 national team, which played two away matches against Serbia’s age-group side during the early June camp, as part of the preparations for the World Cup in Qatar this November. Romania lost the first match 1–0 and the second 2–1. All three of our players received significant playing time, while Bota Darius and Bencze Lóránd each started one of the two games.
Romania’s senior women’s national team played out a goalless draw against Moldova in Nisporeni in the final round of their World Cup qualifying group. Ana Maria Vlădulescu and Geréd Erika (photo) both started the match and played in the first half. Romania had already secured their place in the qualifying play-offs, and thanks to finishing the group unbeaten and without conceding a goal, they will begin the next edition of the Nations League in League B.
FK Csíkszereda were represented by Fülöp Boglárka at the women’s U19 national team camp. The national team travelled to Slovakia for two friendly matches. Of the two games, played in Dunajská Streda and Senec, the hosts won the first 3–2, while Romania won the second 1–0. Fülöp Boglárka started both matches, and in the victorious game she also wore the captain’s armband.
