We closed the fifth round of the Elite Cup group stage with two convincing home victories. Our U15 and U16 teams faced Politehnica Iași, and both secured qualification to the quarter-finals from the top of their respective groups.

U16

For Bernát Burus’ side, this match was effectively a group final, as a defeat would have meant qualification for the visitors. Fully aware of the stakes, we started focused and determined, taking the lead in the 6th minute through Szabó Örs following a set-piece.

We continued to control the game with an organized and aggressive approach, creating several chances to extend our advantage. In the 84th minute, Bíró Botond sealed the victory.

The U16 team finished the group stage with 5 wins from 5 matches and without conceding a single goal, earning qualification with disciplined and consistent performances.

The U15 side also faced a decisive encounter: a win or draw would secure qualification, while a defeat would have sent the visitors through.

Politehnica Iași started aggressively, mainly using long balls, but we gradually took control of the match. In the 24th minute, Matei Darius gave us the lead.

In the second half, we defended in an organized manner and remained dangerous on the counterattack. In the 79th minute, Forró Patrik scored from a corner to secure both the victory and qualification.

The U15 team also advanced to the quarter-finals as group winners.
