Superliga | The pitch tilted — no chance against Dinamo

Szuperliga | Felborult a pálya, nem volt esélyünk a Dinamo ellen

Nothing went FK Csíkszereda’s way on Saturday evening at the National Arena, where the hosts claimed a categorical win — and not just the result leaves a bitter taste.

It was “ladies’ night” in terms of refereeing, with three of the four officials being women. Yet for the large Dinamo crowd, inspiration seemed to come from elsewhere: even before kickoff, they hurled insults at Hungarians, but the referees saw no reason to act.

On the football side, the first serious chance belonged to the hosts. In the 9th minute, Bloj fouled Musi on the edge of the box, and Cîrjan’s sharp-angled free kick was brilliantly saved by Pap. After the ensuing corner, Mărginean’s header lacked power. In the 13th minute, Soro fired wide from 12 meters. Two minutes later, in a duel between Bloj and Musi, VAR awarded a penalty after a long review despite minimal contact. Karamoko converted in the 19th minute.

Csíkszereda tried to bounce back — in the 23rd minute, Eppel was elbowed in the box, but no whistle came. One minute later, Bloj shot just wide from 24 meters.
Before halftime, Dinamo threatened again: in the 37th minute, Stoinov failed to beat Pap from close range, and in the 41st Eppel blasted over. Moments before the break, Jebari escaped a second yellow, and a possible Boateng handball wasn’t reviewed by VAR.

The second half saw complete domination from Dinamo. In the 48th, Pap saved Soro’s header, but two minutes later Ikoko’s low cross found Karamoko for 2–0. In the 60th, Musi broke through and scored — initially flagged offside but validated by VAR for 3–0. In the 75th, Csíkszereda’s biggest chance came through Szalay, who fired over from 14 meters. Dinamo added a fourth in the 82nd: Milanov recovered the ball on the byline, Perica crossed, and Soro finished from close range — 4–0. Pap then made two great saves in the 86th to prevent an even heavier defeat.

At the post-match press conference, head coach Róbert Ilyés criticized the officiating:
“I can’t accept this. When VAR shows there’s no contact, yet you still award a penalty — that means intention. There’s no other explanation. I’m upset because we aren’t treated like other teams. Dinamo didn’t need the referees’ help; they were the better side and deserved the win, but the refereeing was shameful.”
