The Cypriot top division kicked off last weekend, with Marius Corbu’s team, APOEL Nicosia, playing away against Krasava ENY Ypsonas in the first round. An academy graduate of FK Csíkszereda, Corbu was named in the starting lineup and repaid the trust immediately by scoring in the 14th minute. Thanks in part to his goal, APOEL secured a 2–1 victory.
In the Romanian top flight, Omar El Sawy, who belongs to Rapid Bucharest, has not collected any playing minutes in the last two rounds, being on the bench against both FCSB and Metaloglobus.
In Slovakia’s first division, Nándor Tamás, who plays for Komárno FC, suffered his team’s fourth defeat of the season last weekend, losing 4–1 at Zlaté Moravce to Spartak Trnava. In the previous round, they had also lost 2–1 away to Podbrezová. Nándor started both matches and was substituted in the second half.
In Hungary’s NB II Round 4, Videoton FC Fehérvár, with Roland Vajda playing the full 90 minutes, suffered a 3–1 defeat away to Kecskemét. In Round 5, played over the weekend, the Székesfehérvár side defeated Békéscsaba 2–0 at home, but Roland did not appear in that match. Alexandru Ureche started for BVSC Zugló away at Békéscsaba (1–2), being replaced at halftime, and in Round 5 he came on in the final minutes of a 1–1 home draw against Karcag.
